My parents' American Dream

During this week Ms.Diaz ask the class to ask our parents about their American Dream I first ask My Mom then I ask my Stepdad to me mostly both of them have the same dreams.

Mom, What Age did you come to United States and why?

I came to the United States at age 18,I never really thought of working I just mostly came here because I was following your Dad,but he came here because he needed to work.

Now that your here what is your American Dream?

My Ameican Dream now is for you, your sister ,and your brother to have a good career,a good job.

How about do you,you don't want anything for you?

I might want to become an American citizen, and to owe a house, maybe have my own business, and learn how to speak english better.

Dad,What Age did you come to America and why?

I came to America at age 28 because I needed to work.

Now that your here what is your American Dream now?

My American Dream now is to buy a home at at Mexico, and here in Chicago,Illinois.

People should speak up!

I do think people should speak up when others make racist comments, because if you dont defend yourself noby else will. Also when your talking about somebody's else race it not only affects the person your talking about but it also makes yourself look wrong. There are many cases when people judge other people without knowing them.I have read this book called The skin I'm In which is about a girl named Maleeka, she went to school but at school a guy make fun of her because of her skin color,Maleeka was a quiet girl and she never said anything,in the story she also had a supposely friend, but that girl only used Maleeka like a slave, but at the end Maleeka was brave enough to stand out and to speak up to defend herself.

So far what I have seen on television,is that 1 out of 5 students everyday at school faced problems with bullies, and that student is just being treated that way because they might have a different religion, and it could also be for the way they dress, and at the end the only you could have end the situation was by standing out and speaking out for what you think. It's almost the same as saying that the student who didn't speak out could drop-out of school because they couldn't take it.To me this means that when ever people say something about you,and you don't corresponse to it,it just shows them that they can control you any way they want.

I have read so many stories about people being, discriminated such as Rosa Parks a woman who was brave enough to denied to give her saet in the bus,to a white person, and beacuse of that she was arrested.Another brave person was Martin Luther King Jr.,he was a man who g=had a dream about having all people getting together as a big family and put aside all the differences. Both of the them that I mentoined did great things for our environment still the main point was that,it explains that because they wanted a changed they stood up and speak up to defend themselves and others about racist comments.

i accomplish my 13th goal

Guess what I have completed one of my 15 goals.this goal is to be in more school performances, and this sophomore year in the first month of school I have gone to three Color Guard performances it was cool.Actually i was going to be four performnces, but the 26th parade was cancelled because that day it was raining horrible, nonstop for three days the streets were flooded,so mostly the particitation of the academy was cancelled.I was very upset that day because I lived very far away from school and I had taken the bus to be there on time but mostly it wasnt worth it some of the students were mad too, because were standing outside the school for like two hours some of the students also got sick, but it was still fun.

Well the first performance was at the Midway Airport. The performace was after school, like at 6:30 p.m we were supposed to be back at school,to me everything was all crazy, because after school I have driver's ed which ends at 4:30 p.m,so like I say before I take the bus to get home,so I took the bus and got home at 5:00 p.m,and left home again at 6:oo p.m just to be on time. When I got to the school all the team members were getting ready, getting all their equipment and flags.
